Ibrox giants Rangers are expected to make a new approach to sign Greg Docherty from Scottish Premiership rivals Hamilton Academical.

Rangers seem to have adopted a rather odd approach to doing deals.
There has been a number of recent occasions where the Glasgow giants have made an offer well below a player’s market value, only to be laughed off by the potential selling club.
Rangers fans will not need reminding of the long-running Jamie Walker saga, where they made a series of bids around the £600,000 mark while refusing to meet Hearts’ £1 million price-tag.
And according to the Daily Record, Rangers also did themselves no favours by offering bitter rivals Aberdeen just £300,000 for Kenny McLean. The midfielder was out of contract in a years’ time but the Ibrox side must have known that they would have to pay far more.

Now, Walker has gone to Wigan and McLean could be on his way to Norwich with Rangers’ refusal to offer a sensible amount of money costing them both deals.
But have they learned from their mistakes? We could be about to find out.
As reported by the Daily Record, Rangers have made a bid of £300,000 for Hamilton starlet Greg Docherty. The Accies, however, have rebuffed suggestions that the 21-year-old could leave for such a measly fee and have placed a £600,000 price on his head.

However the report adds that Rangers are set to make another move for highly-rated midfielder Docherty in the very near future. They know that a £600,000 bid should be enough to tempt Hamilton into a sale.
But, if they take the same approach that saw them fail to sign either Walker or McLean, Docherty could slip through their net too.
