Leeds United are reportedly hoping to bring former Barnsley loanee Hadi Sacko back to the Championship from Premier League giants Liverpool.

There is no getting away from the fact that Hadi Sacko has been a big disappointment in two seasons at Elland Road.

Leeds United signed the flying winger in 2016 on loan from Sporting Lisbon before making his deal permanent for £1.5 million last summer. But, despite boasting fearsome pace that would terrify any full-back in the division, a galling lack of end product has dogged the Frenchman throughout his time in English football.

In 52 Championship games, Sacko scored one goal and assisted three. So the hope among Leeds fans will be that Ryan Kent – the versatile Liverpool winger who Goal believe could move to West Yorkshire on loan this summer – represents a considerable upgrade on the frustrating Sacko.

And the early signs are good. 21-year-old Kent has already shown that he can perform at Championship level, even if he struggled to make an impact during a spell at Bristol City last season.

The quick, aggressive attacker is best remembered for his fine performances at Barnsley in the 2016/17 season, during which he scored a fantastic goal against Leeds in a 3-2 win at Oakwell.

Kent has hardly been prolific in his two spells in the Championship, scoring just three times, but he appears to offer more than just pace, showing off the wide range of his abilities for Liverpool in pre-season last summer, particularly during a thrilling cameo against Bayern Munich.

While Sacko remains very one dimensional, Kent is a far less predictable player and would represent an immediate step up for Leeds.
