Sunderland signed experienced Championship goalkeeper Lee Camp on loan from Cardiff City.

It is a sign of the times at Sunderland that they should be more than happy with the addition of Lee Camp on transfer deadline day.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper arrives on loan from Cardiff City without playing a single minute of football all season; a deal which rather sums up just how restricted Sunderland have been in the transfer market due to their serious lack of funds.
But while Camp is not the most glamorous addition, he could be the sort of solid signing that goes a long way in a relegation battle.

The former Northern Ireland international has plenty of Championship experience having played in the second tier since all the way back in 2004, bar a season in the Premier League with Norwich City.
And, despite being relegated in a Rotherham United side who set new records for all the wrong reasons in the previous campaign, Camp arrives with the quality and know how to immediately walk straight into Sunderland’s starting XI.
“I haven’t brought players in so that they can not take part – they are here to play and to help us,” Coleman told the Chronicle.

Camp surely will. Sunderland have switched between Robbin Ruiter and Jason Steele this season but neither goalkeeper has nailed down the number one spot due to a series of shaky displays and costly errors.
Sunderland might not have had much money to work with but it seems that Coleman has pulled off a deal which, on paper, solves a real problem position.
