Liverpool will loan out Danny Ings in January – and new West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Pardew has wanted him in the past.

Alan Pardew will have only been in charge of West Bromwich Albion for a month by the time the January transfer window rolls around.

But the new Baggies boss could already get one over his former side. The Chronicle reported that Newcastle United are hopeful of bringing Danny Ings to St James’ Park in the New Year with manager Rafa Benitez a keen admirer of the striker.

But the Birmingham Mail states that Pardew too tried to take Ings to the North East during his spell in charge of The Magpies.

And with Liverpool likely to loan the 25-year-old out in January in order to get some first-team football under his belt, his new West Brom side could well emerge as a potential destination.

After all, The Baggies are hardly blessed with prolific goalscorers. Hal Robson-Kane and Salomon Rondon might have scored in each of the games since Tony Pulis was sacked last week but the duo have netted just four times between them so far in 2017/18.

And Ings, a natural goalscorer whose predatory instincts saw him net 11 times during his debut top flight season with Burnley in 2014/15, could be the sort of number nine Pardew wants as he aims to add some attacking threat to an often toothless West Brom side.

As reported by the Birmingham Mail, West Brom will be unable to spend big or pull off any marquee signings due to their hefty wage bill – meaning signing Ings on loan would make perfect sense.
