The Gers may have a fight on their hand to sign the young Scotsman but moving to Ibrox would be worth his while.
Understandably, the addition of Joey Barton, Niko Kranjcar and Philippe Senderos, with 97 years and 561 Premier League appearances between them, somewhat overshadowed Rangers’ manager Mark Warburton’s targeted recruitment drive.

As well as experienced, proven talent (or supposed talent anyway), the Ibrox giants are planning for the future as well as the immediate present.
Earlier this week, Warburton admitted that the club were aiming to exploit a ‘loophole’ which allows Rangers to sign out of contract English-based players without the need to pay a hefty fee at a tribunal.
Such a system allowed Jordan Rossiter and Joe Dodoo to move north of the border for minimal fees from Liverpool and Leicester City respectively and, while this does not exactly mean they’ll save a few quid bringing in players from Scottish surrounds, it should give 20-year-old midfielder Chris Cadden hope that first-team football would not to be too far away if he was to up sticks and move to Scotland’s largest city.

The Motherwell youngster, who was on loan at second division outfit Albion Rovers just a year ago, is at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between Rangers, Sunderland and West Ham, according to the Daily Record.
The nature of the game dictates that money and the glamour of the Premier League, albeit the lower regions of the Premier League, may be more attractive destination to many players than a club with 54 domestic titles.
But, if history and one of the most passionate fanbases in the game isn’t enough temptation, Rangers’ commitment to building for the future should convince Cadden that Ibrox is the place to be.
