Rangers are reportedly hoping to bring Craig Bryson back to the Scottish Premiership from Derby County.

Central midfield is arguably the strongest area of Rangers’ squad.
Steven Gerrard can already call upon the likes of Graham Dorrans, Ryan Jack, Lassana Coulibaly and Scott Arfield and that is without mentioning forgotten men like Graham Dorrans and Jordan Rossiter or the loaned-out Greg Docherty.
Nonetheless, the Daily Record reports that another midfielder is on Rangers’ radar. The report claims that the Glasgow giants have made a bid to sign Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson and are in negotiations to sign the Scot for free with his contract due to expire in the summer.
It seems that a move is on the cards with Derby owner Mel Morris keen to trim the wage bill and get rid of a number of fringe players with Alex Pearce and George Thorne having already departed.
And, should the move come to fruition, Bryson would be given the chance to work under a man he idolised from a young age.
“As a young player, I grew up watching the gaffer (Frank Lampard) and Steven Gerrard,” Bryson told the Football League Paper in December.

“The way they played that position was unbelievable.”
There are certainly shades of Gerrard in Bryson’s game with the 32-year-old renowned for his lung-busting, driving runs and his ability to find the net from range.
The three-time Scotland international played for Clyde and Kilmarnock before moving to Derby eight years ago.
