Robert Snodgrass reportedly wanted to sign for Celtic in January – though he’s being subjected to criticism at West Ham instead.

Robert Snodgrass was so devoted to his Bhoyhood heroes that he even wore his Celtic shorts when training with Old Firm rivals Rangers, as reported by the Daily Record.
And the newspaper claims that the Scotland international was even willing to take a substantial pay-cut to swap Hull City for Parkhead in January – only for manager Brendan Rodgers to turn him down.
However, if Snodgrass was dreaming of donning the green and white back then, his first few months at West Ham United surely won’t have quelled any lingering bouts of homesickness. The Hammers appeared to have pulled of a major coup when signing the 29-year-old in January despite his hefty £10.2 million price tag (Sky Sports).
However, it’s fair to say both the player and the club will be disappointed about how events have unfolded thus far. Snodgrass may have produced seven goals and three assists for an otherwise uninspired Hull team in the first half of the season but his tally has dropped to none and two in 15 games for West Ham.
And the former Leeds United favourite was once again a magnet for criticism despite Slaven Bilic’s side signing off with a final day 2-1 win against Burnley.

The fact that he’s been forced onto the left wing in recent games, when his game revolves heavily around cutting in from the right hand side, has not helped him showcase his undoubted quality at the London Stadium.
Wrong man, wrong club?
Yet, with Snodgrass rapidly becoming a scapegoat among some sections of the support, and Bilic only trusting him with eight Premier League starts, you could forgive him for wishing he was on the verge of a treble with Celtic instead.
After all, Rodgers has shown that he has the tactical acumen to get the best out of the talents at his disposal. And he surely would not have played Snodgrass out of position.

Furthermore, Celtic supporters are infamously loyal to their own. Therefore, this Bhoyhood fan would surely have been given the support of the fans during an off-day.
As it stands, such patience is not forthcoming at West Ham.
