West Ham United are hoping to sign full-back Ryan Fredericks from Championship side Fulham, but fans want Sessegnon at the London Stadium instead.

West Ham United are hoping to sign a full-back from London rivals Fulham this summer. But not necessarily the one the fans want.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youngster has developed into one of the best full-backs outside the Premier League since swapping Bristol City for Fulham in 2015 and has five assists in 30 Championship games so far this season.

But with Frederick’s contract expiring in the summer, it is no surprise that he has attracted interest from higher up the footballing pyramid. But it appears that if there is one full-back West Ham fans want to see arrive from Craven Cottage, it is his wonder-kid teammate Ryan Sessegnon.
Arguably the most in-demand young player in English football, Sessegnon has scored 11 Championship goals in 31 games this season from left-back. Did we mention that he is just 17?
West Ham fans can wish, however, but a dream deal for Sessegnon looks impossible, and not just because he is attracting interest from some of Europe’s established elite.

The Times claim that Fulham would demand around £50 million for their academy star, which means West Ham would have to double their current transfer record to get him.
Sessegnon may be the more exciting talent but, unless West Ham are bought by the country of Qatar between now and the summer, Fredericks is the realistic option.
