Miguel Layun reportedly has admirers from the Premier League in the shape of West Ham United and Arsenal after stunning Germany at the World Cup.

Miguel Layun was one of the architects of arguably the biggest shock of the World Cup so far: Mexico’s brilliant 1-0 win against holders Germany – even if Hirving Lozano, Javier Hernandez and Hector Herrera claimed most of the credit.
Layun’s direct running and shoot-on-sight policy caused no end of problems for Joachim Low’s shaken Germans. And it seems this performance has made the versatile Porto ace a transfer target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

And the Hammers’ interest will certainly have been piqued after Layun’s tireless performance in the Mexico attack, while his impressive combinations with current West Ham forward Javier Hernandez should give Manuel Pellegrini an idea.

It is understood that Sevilla have until the end of the month to sign the former Watford man, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the La Liga club. But Layun struggled in Andalucia and Sevilla seem to be having second thoughts about paying the £5 million fee.
