Jordan Hugill is on loan at Middlesbrough from Premier League employers West Ham but failed to score against Bolton Wanderers in midweek.

After their 1-0 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday, Middlesbrough were under pressure to get back to winning ways in midweek, particularly after Leeds United hammered Preston North End on Tuesday. And the 2-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers was exactly what the doctor ordered.
A goal from George Saville on his first start preceded a 95th-minute clincher from Britt Assombalonga which keeps Boro in touching distance at the top of the Championship.
But, while the result was certainly positive, the performance was far from stellar. Boro were not at their best against Phil Parkinson’s side and one player in particular seems to have left the fans rather underwhelmed.

Jordan Hugill completed 90 minutes for the first time since arriving on loan from West Ham United in the summer but, quite literally, missed his chance with Assombalonga dropped to the bench.
The former Preston target man failed to score with a couple of presentable headed opportunities, meaning he is yet to register a goal in three league games for his new club.
Boro fans certainly believe improvements can be made for a striker who moved to West Ham in January for £9 million. And if Hugill is to have any sort of a future at the London Stadium, he must start putting these chances away.
