Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to lure Tyler Roberts from Midland rivals West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion know that there is no margin for error with regards to the future of young striker Tyler Roberts.
According to the Express and Star, The Baggies have turned down a multi-million pound offer for the 18-year-old already as interest surges ahead of the January transfer window. But with Roberts’ contract due to expire at the end of the season, there is a very real chance West Brom could lose one of their most exciting prospects on a free.
Which is why they are desperately trying to tie Roberts down to a new deal. The report states that the Baggies have offered the homegrown prospect the chance to stay at The Hawthorns long term with talks ongoing.

Although Midland rivals Wolves will be waiting in the wings, hoping that Roberts decides against remaining at the club where he started his career at the age of just seven. The Express and Star stated earlier this month that Roberts is on the radar of West Brom’s Midland rivals.
Championship leaders Wolves do not only have the best squad in the second tier, they also boast an exciting crop of youngsters and Roberts would join the likes of Bright Enobakhare (below) and Donovan Wilson in their next generation of striking options.

It is understood that manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants a striker in January and, while Roberts does not have the Championship experience he is looking for, he is the top scoring teenager in the Football League this season – netting five on loan at League One Walsall.
And it appears that Wolves’ interest has encouraged West Brom to step up their attempts to block Roberts’ potential exit.
