Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion reportedly wanted to sign Jack Stacey from League One Luton Town.

West Bromwich Albion have dug themselves into a bit of a hole.
The Baggies have loaned out two of their right-backs, Allan Nyom to Leganes and Kane Wilson to Walsall, and then promptly failed to sign a single player to fill the void in their defence despite a wide array of targets.
As reported by the Birmingham Mail, they failed to meet Rangers’ asking price for James Tavernier after having a £3 million bid rejected and a deal to sign Yeovil Town’s Tom James also fell through when he failed to agree personal terms.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have decided they want to keep Joel Ward, and Martin Cranie, who has been training with West Brom over the summer, is no longer in contention for a contract.

Now, with just a week to go until the end of the transfer window and with West Brom now only able to sign players on loan, there aren’t many options left.
So now is the time to perhaps renew their interest in Jack Stacey. According the Mail, West Brom wanted the Luton Town defender but pulled out of a deal in order to focus on that ill-fated move for James.
Manager Darren Moore is understood to be a fan of the 22-year-old, who starred as The Hatters were promoted to League One last season. And with few other options out there, making a move to sign Stacey on loan with a view to a permanent deal seems like a no brainer right now.
