Sam Johnstone was helpless as Darren Moore’s West Bromwich Albion threw away two Championship points at Griffin Park on Monday night.

Sam Johnstone was arguably the best goalkeeper in the Championship during a stellar loan spell at Aston Villa last season.
But, since making the short trip across the Midlands, joining West Bromwich Albion on a permanent basis from Manchester United, the highly-rated shot-stopper is yet to find the same impenetrable form between the sticks.
While there was nothing he could do as Lewis Macleod clattered in a stoppage-time header as Brentford drew 1-1 with West Brom on Monday night, and despite making a terrific save with the scores level at 0-0, a number of Baggies supporters have once again taken to Twitter to question Johnstone’s reliability

The Englishman, who moved to The Hawthorns for an initial £6.5 million fee (BBC), has conceded 28 goals in 20 Championship games this season though he alone cannot be blamed for a rather alarming statistic.
He was playing behind a solid Aston Villa defence marshalled by James Chester and John Terry in 2017/18 but West Brom’s backline appear to have been playing on rollerskates for much of this season with Johnstone left exposed again and again.
And after throwing away two points at Griffin Park, you have to wonder whether a dreadful defensive record will cost The Baggies dear.
