Ex-Chelsea attacker Andre Schurrle could return to the Premier League with West Brom joining Newcastle United and Stoke City in expressing interest.

Borussia Dortmund want to loan out Andre Schurrle for the rest of the season and there is no shortage of Premier League clubs keen to take the attacker off their hands.

According to The Sun, Newcastle United and Stoke City are both keen on the German international, who set up the winner in the 2014 World Cup final. The Magpies and the Potters are in need of sharpening up their attack and could be encouraged by suggestions that Dortmund could cover a decent portion of Schurrle’s £140,000-a-week wages.

And The Mail reports on Wednesday that West Bromwch Albion have also thrown their hat into the ring. Alan Pardew’s side have the third worst attack in the Premier League so the prospect of signing Schurrle on loan understandably appeals to a side restricted by Financial Fair Play.

Schurrle has struggled big time at Dortmund since joining from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2016 as a £30 million replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Injuries have not helped his adaptation, but the reality is that the 27-year-old has been a shadow of his Bayer Leverkusen vintage for a number of years now.

Nonetheless, he would still be a real big name signing for a West Brom side who have struggled to make an impact during the transfer window.

Baggies fans would love to see Schurrle at The Hawthorns. But after failing to sign Troy Deeney, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and more, they aren’t getting their hopes up.
