West Bromwich Albion have responded to their freefall by sacking the chairman and chief executive but, in the words of fans, is it ‘too little, too late’?
West Bromwich Albion are in danger of sleepwalking towards relegation. But, in the aftermath of the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea that leaves the Baggies seven points adrift of safety, it appears the Premier League’s bottom club have woken up and smelt the smoke.
In truth, West Brom’s squad is far too good to be cut adrift at the bottom of the table with the likes of Jay Rodriguez (below), Matt Phillips, Ben Foster, Jonny Evans and Grzegorz Krychowiak plying their trade at The Hawthorns.
So there has to be questions asked of the men behind the scenes. West Brom fans have started to turn on manager Alan Pardew of late, the Geordie gaffer failing miserably to justify the sacking of Tony Pulis before Christmas.
And supporters on Twitter also began to criticise technical director Nicky Hammond, who is responsible for bringing some clearly inadequate players to the Midlands in the last few transfer windows.
Although if the reaction of West Brom fans is anything to go by, Williams and Goodman will not be missed at The Hawthorns.
