David Sesay has shone for Crawley Town this season and could reportedly join Darren Moore’s Championship chasers West Bromwich Albion.
The West Bromwich Albion side fighting for promotion under Darren Moore is an entirely different beast from the one who played Premier League football under Tony Pulis.
The veteran Welshman turned the Baggies into a well-organised, disciplined and defensively minded unit with creativity largely in short supply at the other end.
In complete contrast, however, only Norwich have scored more goals (68) than West Brom in the Championship this season, with their problems occurring at the other end of the pitch.
Despite boasting plenty of defenders with top flight experience, including Craig Dawson, Ahmed Hegazi and Kieran Gibbs, they have been breached 43 times in 34 matches.
But it seems that Moore is at least drawing up plans to solve West Brom’s Achilles heel.
According to the Sun, the Baggies want to sign Crawley Town’s highly-rated defender David Sesay. The 20-year-old, who can play on the right or left of a back four, has been a revelation for the Red Devils since leaving Watford in September.
It is understood that West Brom could pay a bargain £350,000.
While Sesay is not the finished article just yet, he would give West Brom what they have been lacking all season – a natural option at left-back.
Dawson and Tosin Adarabioyo are more at home in the centre while, as impressive as he has been, Mason Holgate is only on loan from Everton.
Signing Sesay could solve West Brom’s problem position and maybe make them a little less vulnerable at the back.
