Premier League newcomers Aston Villa have signed Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes from Jupiler League outfit Club Brugge.

Wesley Moraes’s dream has just come true.
In quotes reported by Voetbal Krant in May, the Club Brugge striker admitted that he wanted to become the most expensive export in the history of the Belgian Jupiler League.
“I want to become the most expensive outgoing transfer in Belgium, breaking that record of 25 million euros,” Wesley said, referring to the record set when Youri Tielemens left Anderlecht for French giants Monaco in the summer of 2018.
And it seems that Wesley will be a very happy man.
According to HLN, the Brazilian has joined Premier League newcomers Aston Villa on a five year deal. The fee? A Jupiler League record of £22 million.
The report adds that Wesley has a long-held desire to prove himself in English football and recently rejected a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

After Cardiff City saw a January bid turned down and amid ongoing links with Newcastle United, it seems that the 22-year-old is finally Premier League bound with Aston Villa making him one of their first signings after promotion.
Wesley produced 17 goals and 10 assists for Club Brugge in 2018/19. The time will tell whether he can replicate those excellent statistics in claret and blue.
