Darren Bent has admitted that he would love to join Glasgow Rangers but will Steven Gerrard bring him to Ibrox?

Back in the day, Darren Bent was one of the most lethal goal-scorers in English football.
He was once England’s first-choice centre-forward, cost Aston Villa a club-record £24 million in 2011 and remains part of a select group of players to have scored over 100 goals in the Premier League.
Bent struck 106 times in 276 games for Ipswich, Charlton, Tottenham, Sunderland, Villa and Fulham. But those halcyon days are long gone now.
He is 34 these days and was last seen on loan at Burton Albion, scoring just twice as the Brewers were relegated from the Championship. Bent is now without a club after being released by Derby County.

So many Rangers fans are far from convinced about offering him the chance to kick-start his career at Ibrox.
Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT, Bent admitted that he would jump at the chance to sign for the Glasgow giants.
“100 per cent! You’re talking about one of the biggest clubs in football in Rangers. To get the opportunity to go up there and play – definitely!”
Rangers have been burned before, however, with the likes of Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar, and Bent feels like an expensive risk that is not worth taking.
