Liverpool could scupper West Ham’s hopes of signing Harry Arter

West Ham United want to sign Harry Arter from Premier League rivals Bournemouth but Liverpool could yet have a decisive say in the transfer.

Two Bournemouth midfielders are in high demand and facing uncertain futures at the Vitality Stadium.

According to The Express, West Ham United manager David Moyes is keen to lure Harry Arter to the London Stadium despite seeing a bid of £8 million for the Republic of Ireland ace rejected during the January transfer window.

And, as reported by The Sun, Liverpool have identified England’s U20 World Cup winning captain Lewis Cook as a £20 million replacement for the seemingly departing Emre Can.

Though if Moyes is hoping to finally see Arter in claret and blue, his chances could rest on whether Bournemouth would be willing to sell a player who has been so impressive of later that, not only has he kept Arter out of the side, he has been tipped as an outside bet for England’s World Cup squad.

But if Bournemouth had to cash in on one of the two, it is unlikely that Arter would still be playing his football on the south coast next season despite the fact he has been a major factor in the club’s rise to the top tier in English football.

Arter told the Mirror recently that he could be tempted by a move away in the summer due to his lack of action and that would have been music to the ears of West Ham, who are on the lookout for a dynamic midfielder having failed to bring anyone in during the January window.

Cook, however, is the future of Bournemouth so unless Liverpool make them an offer they cannot refuse, he will probably stay while Arter goes.
