Premier League giants Newcastle United are facing up to the prospect of losing their most exciting youngster Yasin El-Mhanni to Championship leaders Wolves.

For such a football mad part of the world, it is a major failing that so few youngsters tend to make the breakthrough at Newcastle United.

The likes of Sammy Ameobi, Nile Ranger and Dan Barlaser have flirted with the first-team but, in truth, the last academy graduate to nail down a place in the Magpies’ senior side was Paul Dummett. And he has been a regular for four years now.

So Newcastle should be concerned by the reports that Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to seize arguably the most exciting and promising talent in the Magpies’ youth ranks right now, as stated by Goal.

Yasin El-Mhanni may be better known for acting as a double for the likes of Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo in TV adverts but it seems only a matter of time before this freestyling social media sensation starts to produce the goods on the turf for real.

Yet with just six months left on his contract at Newcastle, and with only two senior appearances to his name in the North East, their loss could very much be Wolves’ gain.

Goal reports that El-Mhanni has been the subject of enquiries from a number of clubs with his future at St James’ Park as Newcastle launch an investigation into claims of bullying against his under-23 manager Peter Beardsley.

The report states that left-back Lewis Gibson left for Everton in the summer as he did not want to play for Beardsley and El-Mhanni could do the same.

But if the 22-year-old fulfils the potential every Newcastle fan is keen to see at Molineux instead, his departure would be a big loss for the Magpies.
