Two players linked with Leeds United, Kyle Bartley and Matej Vydra, could reportedly be joining Championship rivals West Bromwich Albon instead

West Brom could be about to ruin the dreams of Leeds United fans all over the land.
Whites supporters wanted nothing more than to see Kyle Bartley return to the club where he shone on loan during the 2016/17 season. The defensive giant formed an immense partnership with Pontus Jansson as Leeds finished seventh, their highest league placing in over a decade.
But the Mail (live blog, 4.15pm) reports that Bartley is on his way to the Midlands instead. West Brom have agreed a £4million deal to lure the Swansea City man to The Hawthorns.
And, to make matters worse, Leeds could now lose their top striker target to Darren Moore’s side too. The Telegraph had claimed at the start of July that Leeds were closing in on a deal for Derby County’s Championship Golden Boot winner Matej Vydra.
Having broken the 20-goal barrier twice in this division, the Czech striker looked like the proven hitman that Leeds have been crying out for since Chris Wood joined Burnley last year.

But after baulking at Vydra’s wage demands and subsequently cooling their interest, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, West Brom have stepped in. The Express and Star claim they’re preparing a bid for a player who spent the 2013/14 season on loan at The Hawthorns.
It is understood that Vydra will cost £11 million and would demand wages of £35,000 a week.
So could The Baggies now be about to sign two players that Leeds fans were desperate to see arrive at Elland Road? Quite possibly.
Just imagine the fury if they landed Pontus Jansson too, amid claims in Expressen that they’ve approached Leeds about the cult hero centre-back.
