Everything seems set up for Hirving Lozano to sign for Everton this summer.

According to the Sunday Mirror (22 April, page 64), the Toffees’ prospective new director of football Marcel Brands wants to bring the Mexican winger to Goodison Park with him from PSV Eindhoven this summer.

And, just to strengthen the links, it is understood that Lozano is set to team up with super-agent Mino Raiola. The outspoken Raiola also represents Brands, and Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is allegedly keen to establish a partnership with one of the transfer market’s most influential figures.

And, just to make a potential deal even more exciting, Football Espana claims that Lozano could cost as little as £23 million amid reports in Cadena Ser that Valencia are attempting to sign him this summer.

In today’s market, that is a very tempting fee. Lozano, who moved to PSV from Pachuca a year ago, was arguably the Eredivisie’s best player in 2017/18, scoring 17 goals and setting up eight more as Phillip Cocu’s side won the title for the third time in four seasons.

And Lozano, who is nicknamed ‘Chucky’, would be a fine addition to an Everton side who have lacked pace, creativity and goal threat in wide areas during a hugely underwhelming campaign.
