Marseille’s Valere Germain was reportedly offered to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic as part of a swap deal involving Moussa Dembele.

Valere Germain has a lot of qualities. He works hard, he is blessed with intelligent movement and no one could suggest that he is anything other than a committed team player.
But a prolific goal-scorer? Germain is not exactly a regular source of goals.
According to Le 10 Sport in August, Marseille were keen to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele and were willing to send Germain in the other direction to sweeten the deal. But, the report adds, the former Monaco and Nice forward had no intention to move to Scotland, and Dembele joined Ligue 1 rivals Lyon soon after.
But, while Germain could have been the main man at Celtic, he has been forced to play a bit-part role at Marseille this season.
He has started just six of their 11 Ligue 1 games and scored a disappointing three goals in 14 matches in all competitions. As it stands, the 28-year-old has not hit the back of the net in any of his last six games.

With Marseille seemingly still on the lookout for a marquee striker signing, it seems Germain could soon fall further down the pecking order.
Should he now be regretting turning down Celtic?
