Spurs have been linked with Spartak Moscow’s Dutch winger Quincy Promes since 2016 but Southampton now looks his most likely Premier League destination.

After years of speculation, Quincy Promes looks like he could finally be on his way to England, but not with Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Sky Sports, the Dutch international winger is keen on a switch to the Premier League from Russian outfit Spartak Moscow. But despite incessant links with Spurs and Liverpool, it appears that Southampton are the most likely destination for the 2017 Russian League Player of the Year.
The Saints are interested and could end up paying £30 million; a deal that would shatter their transfer record. Although considering that Mauricio Pellegrino’s side are infamously light on pace out wide, a player who provides that in abundance could prove to be priceless.

But it will be interesting to see whether Tottenham make one more move for the former FC Twente star.

Since then, however, Promes has evolved into arguably the most feared attacker in Russia’s top flight. The 26-year-old has hit double figures in each of his three full seasons with Spartak and already has ten goals in 16 league starts this campaign. Promes also inspired his side to the title in 2016/17.
But do Tottenham even need a new winger? Links with Lucas Moura appear to have stalled, while the superb form of Heung-Min Son and the return of Erik Lamela ensures Pochettino can count on plenty from the wide positions.
Nonetheless, Spurs would do no harm by considering Promes one last time.
