For the third transfer window in succession, Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur could sign a player that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain do not want.

Serge Aurier has plenty of people to convince at Tottenham Hotspur.

The right-back cost £23 million when he arrived from Paris Saint-Germain last summer but, at times, has resembled a player worth just 10% of that transfer fee.

Aurier at his best is a rampaging and aggressive modern full-back who can deliver an inch-perfect cross from out wide. At his worst, however, he is ill-disciplined, error-prone and, at times, a downright liability.

Tottenham fans will not forget his Champions League horror shows against Juventus or Real Madrid, where he gave away two of the most naive penalties you will ever see, in a hurry.

So Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino should be aware that, if Tottenham raid PSG for the third straight transfer window for left-back Layvin Kurzawa, he could be arriving in North London with many of the same defects that have plagued Aurier’s debut season.

RMC Sport claim that Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the former Monaco man amid suggestions PSG could cash in as part of a substantial summer overhaul.

Losing his place to the former Spurs youngster Yuri Berchiche at the Parc des Princes, Kurzawa has started just 16 Ligue 1 games this season and was omitted for both legs of the Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

At times, Kurzawa is a thrilling attacking force and one of Europe’s most potent goalscoring full-backs but, like Aurier, he remains inconsistent and a defensive mistake never seems too far away.
