Celtic’s Scottish Premiership champion and World Cup semi-finalist is understood to be a target for Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

Celtic are hoping to tie down Dedryck Boyata as soon as he returns to Glasgow following his exploits with Belgium at this summer’s World Cup, according to the Daily Record.
The centre-back has just one year left on his contract. And, with clubs across Europe expressing an interest, it seems that The Hoops are genuinely fearful that they will lose one of their key players before the end of the window.
And Celtic’s hopes of holding onto the former Manchester City man have surely taken a hit now that Ligue 1 giants Lyon have expressed an interest.
The Scottish Sun claimed on Thursday that Lyon are lining up a bid for Boyata in what could be Celtic’s biggest challenge yet.

The Daily Record claim that Fulham and Lazio are also interested. The former has only recently been promoted to the Premier League and could be aiming for mid-table at best realistically while the latter will be playing Europa League football next season.
Lyon, however, are guaranteed a place in the Champions League group stage after finishing third in France’s top flight last season. Bruno Genesio’s side are a hugely exciting and talented bunch of players, led by the likes of Nabil Fekir, Mariano Diaz and Bertrand Traore, but are certainly weak at the back.
Therefore, there is an obvious starting berth available for Boyata. And even the most ardent Celtic fan could understand if his head was turned.
