Championship underachievers Leeds United have reportedly bid to bring midfielder Taras Romanczuk to Elland Road.

Many Leeds United fans wanted proven Championship stars this summer rather than more unknown imports. Taras Romanczuk, however, certainly falls into the latter category.
According to The Mail, Leeds have failed with a £1.2 million bid to sign the Jagiellonia Bialystok midfielder in a move that is likely to give rise to yet more criticism from supporters frustrated by the unconvincing transfer dealings of director of football Victor Orta.
But maybe Romanczuk could be a more astute addition than those who have gone before.
Yes, he is still playing in the Polish first division at the age of 26 but the last two years have been a big success for the 6ft 1ins enforcer. He was arguably the best player in the Ekstraklasa during the 2015/16 season, winning the Midfielder of the Year award during a campaign in which he established himself among the division’s most impressive performers.

Romanczuk has continued that form ever since and made his international debut in March, just days after the Ukrainian-born talent received his Polish citizenship. Some were even surprised when he was left out of Adam Newalka’s World Cup squad.
Clearly, Romanczuk is a player whose career is on the rise so perhaps now is the time to try his hand in England.
