It is not often Tottenham Hotspur get a chance to lure a player as talented as Bordeaux winger Malcom to the Premier League.

It does not take long to realise just what a special talent the Bordeaux youngster Malcom really is. A thrilling winger blessed with Brazilian flair and an eye for the spectacular, there are few talents in the world game more exciting.

And with eight goals and six assists in Ligue 1 this season, it seems the 21-year-old does not struggle with a lack of end product.

So it almost goes without saying that Tottenham Hotspur should seize their chance to sign a player who has his eyes on the Premier League. Spurs have been linked with Malcom for some time and, despite rival interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, there is a notable shortage of bona fide European giants fighting it out for the Samba star’s signature.

So Spurs might never have a better chance to lure a player this talented to North London; even if they would have to break their transfer record to meet his £48.5 million asking price.

And, fortunately, they are going the right way about getting the job done.

Tottenham calling

RMC Sport have claimed that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has personally called Malcom to discuss a move away from Bordeaux at the end of the season.

It is this personal touch that should only make Tottenham are more attractive destination for a player who has the potential to be one of the world’s very best under Pochettino’s management.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City or Manchester United are all seemingly absent from the chase, giving Tottenham a massive opportunity.
