West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing goalkeeper Mark Bunn from Championship and Midland rivals Aston Villa.

Could Aston Villa’s first and second choice goalkeepers both be playing for bitter Midland rivals West Bromwich Albion next season?
Sam Johnstone has already made the short, 12-mile journey from Birmingham to West Bromwich; the 24-year-old joining the Baggies from Manchester United for £6 million after spending 18 months on loan at Villa.

Although if the Villa faithful were despairing at seeing one of their star men pull on the West Brom crest, it seems they would be far more ambivalent to the prospect of Mark Bunn heading to The Hawthorns.
The Birmingham Mail is reporting that West Brom are surprisingly interested in signing Bunn as a back-up to Johnstone this summer. But unlike Johnstone, who was a regular in the starting XI and arguably the Championship’s standout goalkeeper last season, Bunn barely got a look-in under Steve Bruce.
In three years as a Villa player, veteran Bunn has managed only 16 league appearances with just one to his name in 2017/18. The 33-year-old also has just one year left on his contract, so a Villa side needing to raise funds to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions should be willing to cash in.

After all, Villa already have the impressive young Matija Sarkic and the underrated Jed Steer waiting in the wings.
