Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants a reunion with West Ham United talisman Marko Arnautovic at Old Trafford.
Back in the summer of 2016, Jose Mourinho signed a maverick forward for Manchester United by the name of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede has regularly fallen out with managers throughout a stellar playing career, not least Pep Guardiola and Fabio Capello, but he maintained a strong bond with Mourinho on the back of their trophy-laden spell at Inter Milan.
It is fair to say Mourinho’s relationship with Marko Arnautovic was a little more strained. The fiery Austrian spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Inter Milan but made just three appearances in all competitions.
And, unsurprisingly, the famously strong willed Arnautovic found himself on the wrong side of the Portuguese disciplinarian.
Mourinho described the then youngster as ‘a fantastic person with the attitude of a child’ and even went as far as to call him ‘unmanageable’ – a tag that has stuck with Arnautovic to this day. The former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss then declined to sign his young protégé on a permanent basis at the end of that season.

The now-29-year-old enjoyed arguably the best season of his career at West Ham in 2017/18, scoring 11 top flight goals after his club-record £24 million move from Stoke City.
Mourinho obviously saw plenty of talent in Arnautovic during their spell together at the San Siro, FourFourTwo reporting that the legendary boss gave the striker his watch after he turned up on time for a training session; a gift Arnautovic has treasured to this day.
But expect plenty of headlines if these two reunite this summer.
