Championship table-toppers Leeds United need one more centre-back and should take a look at Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Leeds United have just a week left to bring new players in to Elland Road. And if they want to really challenge for promotion this season, a small squad could do with an addition or two with 42 games remaining under Marcelo Bielsa’s famously demanding leadership.
Leeds look to have plenty of options in central midfield and out wide, while Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe mean the future looks bright in attack too.
But The Whites are lacking a bit of depth in defence. Only Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson can be considered natural centre-halves even if Gaetano Berardi has done a fine job in a new position so far this season.
So reports in the Birmingham Mail that Wolves have made Dominic Iorfa available on loan should not go unnoticed, particularly with the England U21 international eyeing a loan move to a Championship club with his chances of game time at Molineux looking slim.
23-year-old Iorfa wasn’t at his best during a spell at Ipswich Town last season but made 63 Championship starts for Wolves in two Championship campaigns before Nuno Espirito Santo took over last summer.
He has plenty of experience at this level and the raw talent that could be moulded effectively by Bielsa, a man who seems to turn everything into gold at the moment with the slightest of touches.
Iorfa would give Leeds depth and athleticism at the back. And he has far more knowledge of Championship football than Matthew Pennington.
