Leeds United reportedly want prolific Championship duo Abel Hernandez and Matej Vydra from Hull and Derby but remain in talks with Jerry Mbakogu.

Leeds United could be about to sign one of the most prolific strikers in the Championship.
And the Derby Telegraph is now reporting that Leeds have expressed an interest in signing the current Championship Golden Boot winner Matej Vydra from Derby County. The Czech striker, who cost the Rams £8 million, scored 21 goals last season.

So if Leeds’ first striker signing this summer ends up being a little-known forward from Serie B, expect fans to be distinctly underwhelmed.

Tuttomercatoweb has now claimed that the talks are ongoing although Leeds have asked for a discount on the supposed £3.5 million deal. Mbakogu, who scored just eight goals last season, has struggled with injuries in recent months, seemingly reducing his value in Leeds’ eyes.
Leeds fans have clamoured for a proven Championship goal-scorer for months, meaning Hernandez and Vydra would be hugely popular additions. Mbakogu, however, would be greeted with a great deal of suspicion, especially now the fans are dreaming of two of the best goal-scorers outside the Premier League.
