Uruguay have big hopes for Giorgian De Arrascaeta at the World Cup but could Wolves bring him to the Premier League before it all kicks off?

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans could be forgiven for firing up Wikipedia after reading reports from UOL Esporte that the club are interested in signing Giorgian de Arrascaeta.
By the end of this summer’s World Cup, however, the whole planet could be aware of the 23-year-old’s considerable talents. Which perhaps explains why Wolves seem keen to tie up a deal for the Cruzeiro attacker before the festival of football kicks off in Russia this summer.

The attacking midfielder has spent his entire career in South America, joining Cruzeiro from Defensor Sporting in his homeland of Uruguay back in 2015. But the 13-time international, who is renowned for his mesmeric dribbling ability and his tendency to leave opposition defenders red-faced, could be set to explode on to the world stage.
De Arrascaeta is the spearhead of this new-look, fresh faced Uruguay team who appear to have shifted from an uber-pragmatic, garra infused style towards a more proactive and creative style.

So no wonder Wolves want the one-time wonder-kid now, with his termination clause standing at around £23 million.
It is understood that Monaco are keen too, but De Arrascaeta could be a fine World Cup away from being one of the most coveted players around. After all, £23 million is not exactly a massive fee for a player of De Arrascaeta’s potential these days.
