Youness Mokhtar’s form in the Eredivisie for PEC Zwolle reportedly has Queens Park Rangers interested, but what about Leeds United?

Leeds United have not had much luck signing players from Dutch football of late.

Mateusz Klich and Jay-Roy Grot arrived at Elland Road last summer from FC Twente and NEC Nijmegen respectively but it is fair to say neither set the world alight.

However there is another Dutch-based player potentially heading to the Championship this summer who could be perfect for Leeds, that is, if he can make the step up to English football and succeed where so many former Eredivisie stars failed.

According to Voetbal Primeur, Queens Park Rangers are watching PEC Zwolle winger Youness Mokhtar, who is out of contract this summer and might just have done enough this season to earn his big chance away from the Eredivisie.

Should Leeds join the chase, however? Well, the Whites have been linked with a number of other Dutch-based talents over the last few months.

So there is a chance that the skilful, unpredictable Mokhtar would have caught their eye. The former FC Twente man has ten goals and six assists for a Zwolle side still in with a chance of qualifying for the Eredivisie’s Europa League play-offs despite a dreadful drop off in 2018.

And while Ezgjian Alioski and Samu Saiz struggle for consistent form in 2018, Leeds could do with a speedy, direct and creative winger like Mokhtar to make a difference in the final third.

He has been one of Holland’s most dangerous attackers this season, but should the struggles of Klich and Grot put Leeds off?
