Yosuke Ideguchi doesn’t appear likely to get much of a chance at Marcelo Bielsa’s Championship high-flyers Leeds United right now

Leeds United fans could be forgiven for wondering if they are ever going to see Yosuke Ideguchi in that famous white kit.
The Whites looked to have pulled off an impressive bit of business when they landed a Japanese international in January. But, almost a year later, Ideguchi is already looking like one of Victor Orta’s famous duds.
Ideguchi, who arrived from Gamba Osaka for £500,000, has not played a single second of football under Marcelo Bielsa. And, in quotes reported by Leeds Live, the 62-year-old has admitted that a decision will be taken about the midfielders future before the end of the month.
But what is the best course of action? Ideguchi failed to make an impact during a loan spell at Cultural Leonesa from January to May but surely he could only benefit from a temporary move to another English club.

Ideguchi needs time to acclimatise to the English game. And if he is behind Adam Forshaw, Lewis Baker, Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and co in the pecking order then he needs to get some game time elsewhere.
There shouldn’t be a shortage of clubs keen to sign a 21-year-old international with no financial commitments to a loan move elsewhere, preferably to another Championship club, which would give Ideguchi a chance to salvage a Leeds career that already appears to be in doubt.
