Bakary Sako’s contract at Crystal Palace expires this summer and the one-time Wolves star is 8/1 to sign for Premier League bottom club West Brom.

Bakary Sako of Crystal Palace celebrates after the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Watford at Selhurst Park on December 12, 2017 in London, England.

If Crystal Palace don’t want Bakary Sako, there will be plenty of clubs willing to give this explosive winger a new home.

Despite Sako looking like a player reborn under Roy Hodgson before a cruelly timed injury put pay to his resurgence, the Malian international is out of contract this summer and looks set to leave after three years at Selhurst Park.

Bet Victor have former club Wolves as the 2/1 favourites to re-sign Sako. But, interestingly, Wolves’ midland rivals West Brom have been given odds of 8/1 for a signing that would be pretty much the perfect deal for a side preparing for life in the Championship.

Sako was superb in the second tier during his spell at Wolves, becoming a real fans’ favourite for his pace, power and occasional wondergoals. In total, the 29-year-old netted 15 times in his most recent Championship season in 2014/15.

If he could bring his Wolves or latter-day Crystal Palace form to The Hawthorns, West Brom would have one of the most dangerous attacking weapons in the division in their armoury – without spending a single penny.

Now, attacking reinforcements will be a must this summer. It looks certain that Nacer Chadli will leave with Calciomercato claiming that the club’s one-time £13 million record signing is on the radar of Napoli, a move that would surely appeal to a Belgium international looking to restore his reputation.

Replacing Chadli with a former Wolves favourite who has a superb Championship record would be one of the best deals the second tier would see this summer.
