Tottenham Hotspur reportedly made a £30million offer to bring Giovanni Simeone to the Premier League from Serie A club Fiorentina.

Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente failed badly in their attempts to provide competition for Harry Kane in North London.
As a result, Tottenham Hotspur are still scouring the market for a player capable of easing the goal-scoring burden on their all-important number ten.
According to Tuttosport, Spurs made a move for Fiorentina’s Giovanni Simeone over the summer but even a bid of £30 million was not enough to convince La Viola to cash in.
The 23-year-old, son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego, is a hugely important player at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, scoring 14 goals in his debut Serie A season for Fiorentina and netting once already in 2018/19.
As a result, Calciomercato reports that Fiorentina are hoping to tie Simeone down to a new contract as soon as possible. His current deal runs until 2022 and Stefano Pioli’s side want to secure Simeone for an extra year though they would have to meet his wage demands of £35,000 a week.

Tottenham, then, might have missed their chance to sign the former Genoa man.
Even if they renew their interest in 2019, Fiorentina will be holding all the cards if they can get Simeone to sign on the dotted line before January.
