Republic of Ireland teen Elvis Azah is interesting Scottish Premiership giants Celtic, as well as Premier League trio Chelsea, Southampton and Brighton.

Celtic fans show their support during the UEFA Champions League group B match between Celtic FC and Bayern Muenchen at Celtic Park on October 31, 2017 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

At the age of just 16, Elvis Azah has to make a decision that could shape his entire future.

As reported by the Scottish Sun, there are a whole host of teams interested in the Republic of Ireland wonder-kid and he must choose between Celtic, Chelsea, Brighton and Southampton.

A quick winger with an eye for goal, Azah is one of the hottest prospects to come out of Ireland in recent years and, according to the Mail, could have already earned a contract at Manchester United or Everton if it was not for the fact that he didn’t have an Irish citizenship at the time.

That problem has now been resolved, however, and Azah will have to choose the club he believes will help him develop into a future first team star.

The prospect of signing of a true European giant like Chelsea undoubtedly appeals but their lack of academy graduates is well documented.

Southampton would be tempting, if only due to the amount of highly-rated youngsters who have emerged on the South Coast in recent years. Adam Lallana, Nathanial Clyne and Luke Shaw all honed their trade with the Saints but, in truth, the supply line has dried up in recent years and homegrown youngsters are not getting the same opportunities at St Mary’s.

This leaves Celtic, then, as the obvious destination. Azah has already donned the famous green and white, scoring and assisting in a fabulous trial performance for The Hoops youth team against Partick Thistle this week.

And with Brendan Rodgers at the helm, Azah can almost guarantee that he will get first-team chances at Parkhead if he is patient and willing to learn.

It is Azah’s decision but should it really be a decision at all?
