Richarlison has scored 10 Premier League goals since leaving Watford for Everton but just one in his last ten games for Marco Silva.
Everton might have paid £50 million to sign Richarlison last summer but it seems they would expect to make a huge profit if they sold the Brazilian just 12 months later (BBC).
According to the Daily Star, the Toffees now value their record signing at £80 million with Chelsea, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all circling.
On the evidence of the last few months, Everton should not think twice if anyone is willing to meet their £80 million price-tag. Like at Watford last season, Richarlison’s form has dropped alarmingly after the turn of the year.
The Brazil international has scored just two goals in his last 11 games in all competitions with Marco Silva’s side having slid down the table, and out of the FA Cup, after an encouraging start to the campaign.
No wonder the fans are losing their patience. They are understandably expecting more from a £50 million forward.
On the other hand, however, it should not be forgotten that Richarlison is just 21. If he had not cost such a huge fee, no one would be questioning his lack of consistency which is, after all, a problem that dogs many a young player.
Richarlison’s form has been patchy but there is no doubt he has the potential to be one of Europe’s stand out forwards. And selling him now would make no sense, even if they receive an £80 million offer.
The Toffees simply must persevere. Patience is a virtue, one that could eventually see a prolific Premier League striker banging in the goals in Everton blue.
