Rangers hopes of bringing West Brom youngster Tyler Roberts to Ibrox after decreasing all the time with Leeds United bidding and Serie A giants AC Milan keen.

Rangers need the chips to fall perfectly in their favour if they are to seal a deal for West Bromwich Albion’s Tyler Roberts.
It is understood by the Sun that the Scottish giants were attempting to sign the 18-year-old striker on loan for the remainder of the season. But after being made aware that Roberts is out of contract in the summer, and could be picked up for a measly £300,000 compensation fee, Rangers soon turned their attention towards a permanent deal.

But the chances of landing Roberts for next to nothing are hanging in the balance. Because West Brom are desperately trying to tie down the talented forward to a new long-term contract.
And, if they can’t, if will be interesting to see whether or not they view Leeds United’s interest in a different light after the Championship giants made a £4 million bid last week. The Mail state that Roberts is tempted by a move to Elland Road.
And just to make Rangers’ chances look even more slim, Gazzetta dello Sport (26 January, page 12) claim that none other than five-time European champions AC Milan have sent scouts to run the rule over the on-loan Walsall forward.

Milan have joined fellow one-time Champions League winners Marseille and Italian rivals Sampdoria and Torino in targeting one of Britain’s most highly-rated young forwards.
So not only do Rangers need to hope that West Brom do not cash in with Leeds’ seemingly still interested, they have to ensure Ibrox is a more enticing destination than the San Siro.
