Henri Lansbury has disappointed at Aston Villa since arriving from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest in January 2017.

There has barely been a single member of Aston Villa’s first-team squad who has not been tipped to leave with the fallen giants in the midst of a financial meltdown.
The likes of Jack Grealish, Andre Green, Alan Hutton and Mile Jedinak could all reportedly be heading for the door with Villa under pressure to raise £40 million to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions, which understandably has supporters very concerned.

But there are a few players that Villa should be doing their best to cash in on and Henri Lansbury is certainly one of those.
The Midland giants looked to have pulled off a coup when they snatched Lansbury from Nottingham Forest in January 2017 for a fee of £3 million, according to Sky Sports. But the 27-year-old has never managed to recapture his City Ground form while wearing claret and blue.
Lansbury managed just six league starts in a season hit by injury, after failing to produce a goal or an assist in his first 18 games for the club in the second half of the 2016/17 campaign.

And, according to the Mirror (June 8, page 59), the former Arsenal youngster is one of the club’s highest earners on £40,000 a week – which should make him ripe for the cull.
In truth, Lansbury has never looked like justifying that Premier League pay-packet in Villa colours and, if the club get a sensible offer, do not be surprised to see him shunted towards the exit.
