Rangers have snapped up winger Aaron Nemane from Manchester City.
Rangers made it ten summer signings on Wednesday evening, as they confirmed a loan deal for Manchester City wide man Aaron Nemane, snapping him up until January.
The Gers had already snapped up Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena, Graham Dorrans, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos before the start of the season, but Rangers have now dipped back into the transfer market once again.
Pedro Caixinha’s men have been patchy in attack so far this season, and their latest addition could help them – though confusion still surrounds the role of new signing Aaron Nemane.
Nemane, 19, has come up through the ranks with City having moved to England from France at a young age, and he has been attempting to make a name for himself in the club’s youth setup.
Rangers’ new director of football Mark Allen worked with Nemane during his time as City’s academy chief, and Allen has now swooped to land Nemane on loan until January – but he will be placed in the developmental squad rather than the first team.
Nemane’s Manchester City contract expires at the end of the season, meaning Rangers could simply take a look at Nemane until January and then pursue a bargain pre-contract agreement with the winger, should he impress Gers staff.
This is a signing seemingly more driven by Allen than manager Caixinha, and Rangers fans so far seem underwhelmed by the club’s latest addition.
Some believe that Nemane is no better than Barrie McKay after the winger was allowed to join Nottingham Forest, with others unhappy that Rangers are developing other club’s youngsters rather than their own, suggesting that the club never learns from their mistakes.
Whilst Nemane has already been compared to former Gers loanee Nathan Oduwa, other fans are being a little more optimistic, believing that Nemane could earn a permanent deal at Ibrox with some promising displays, backing Allen’s assessment of the winger having worked with him for many years.
