Alan Shearer was a little reluctant on Amazon Prime Sport to talk about Leeds United thumping Newcastle 5-2 last night.

When analysing all of Wednesday’s game, host Gabby Logan asked Peter Crouch, Shearer and Roberto Martinez what their standout game of the day was.

Given that a certain Newcastle legend was sitting next to him, Crouch couldn’t help but state that he just loved the look of the Leeds result.

This is how their conversation unfolded, with Gabby Logan first asking them their standout result.

“I just love the Leeds result against Newcastle, to be honest with you,” laughed Crouch whilst sitting next to Shearer.

Shearer responded: “I am pleased you didn’t ask me that, Gabby. No thanks, I don’t want to [talk about the game].

“Do we have to?” he chuckled. “We didn’t see the second half. We only saw the goals and they have been stung with the counter-attack.”

It was some performance from Leeds, who tore Steve Bruce’s side to shreds, and in truth, would have scored more had the game continued.

Whilst Newcastle fans will look towards their defending on the night, there was some unbelievable goals scored, especially Rodrigo’s and Jack Harrison’s late on.

All in all, it ended Leeds’ run of back-to-back defeats, as they will be hoping to climb back up the Premier League table once more.
