Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League runners-up Liverpool reportedly wanted to hijack Watford’s deal for Fluminense forward Joao Pedro.

Watford are confident of beating Liverpool to the signature of coveted Brazilian forward Joao Pedro, according to Sky Sports, with a £2 million deal already in place.
Alongside Arsenal-bound Gabriel Martinelli, the teenage forward looks set to move to England this summer after making his name at Fluminense in his homeland. In just 11 first team appearances, Pedro has already scored eight goals at senior level.
And, should he make the move to Vicarage Road, he will be following in the footsteps of Richarlison. The current Everton forward joined Watford from Fluminense in the summer of 2017 and sealed a £50 million move to Goodison Park one year later.
Globo Esporte claimed over the weekend that Liverpool were looking to hijack Watford’s deal for one of the most exciting young strikers in South America – but Jurgen Klopp’s side might have left it too late.

Sky claim that Watford have a £2 million deal lined up and the FA Cup runners-up are very confident of getting Pedro to sign on the dotted line. The report adds that they would be very surprised if, for whatever reason, Pedro ended up joining another club.
Furthermore, Fluminense would have to pay Watford £20 million in compensation if they blocked his move to Vicarage Road at this late stage.
