Virgil Gomis has not made a Championship appearance yet for Nottingham Forest and is currently on loan at Conference Premier outfit Braintree Town.

Nottingham Forest fans have been clamouring for Virgil Gomis to be given his first-team debut for some time now.
The 19-year-old striker has been scoring goals at a remarkable rate in the youth ranks but is yet to make his senior bow for the East Midland giants despite the fact that, according to the Nottingham Post, he was on the verge of a call-up to the first-team towards the end of last season.
But could a loan move to non-league be the making of Gomis?
The teenager joined Conference Premier side Braintree Town this week – and has not waited around to make an impact in the fifth tier of English football.
Gomis started in Braintree’s Tuesday night trip to Bromley and scored inside just six minutes, helping Braintree to a valuable 4-2 away win.

As reported by the Nottingham Post, Braintree’s chairman Lee Harding suggested that the club could look to keep Gomis beyond his initial 28-day loan spell should he impress in the Conference.
And if Gomis isn’t going to feature in Forest’s first-team over the coming months then remaining with the Essex club could make sense.
