Newcastle United need a new manager but surely ex-Nottingham Forest coach Roy Keane is not on his way.

Roy Keane leaves Nottingham Forest on Sunday and the Newcastle United manager’s job becomes vacant on Monday. Coincidence? Well, probably.
But Vinnie Jones clearly thinks there is more to this than meets the eye.
The announcement of Rafa Benitez’s departure from St James’ Park certainly seems a little odd, given that his contract is due to expire at the end of this week anyway.
And Jones, tin foil hat and all, seems to believe there is something in the pipeline here – namely, something that involves Roy Keane working under Mike Ashley in a partnership that would surely only end in pyrotechnics.

The former Manchester United captain is on the lookout for a manager’s job again after spending the last few years glowering menacingly behind Martin O’Neill’s left shoulder.
But surely even Mr Mike Ashley isn’t going to hand his football club over to one of the most explosive and unpredictable characters in the game? Especially one with ties to local rivals Sunderland – not to mention the fact that Keane hasn’t managed a club on his own since a dismal spell at Ipswich Town ended in 2011.
No wonder Newcastle fans were quick to shoot down Jones’ rather bizarre prediction.
