West Ham United have reportedly offered West Bromwich Albion the chance to sign Hugill but could he fire them to the Championship title?

Jordan Hugill didn’t exactly endear himself to the West Bromwich Albion fans last season.
There is nothing that annoys supporters more than a 6ft something athlete throw themselves to the floor like a weightless rag doll and Hugill’s rather embarrassing tumble in February’s clash against Middlesbrough earned the striker plenty of criticism from the Hawthorns faithful. In truth, you can hardly blame them.
But that is not the only reason why West Brom fans are not to keen on the idea of Hugill replacing Dwight Gayle next season.
According to the Star, West Ham have offered West Brom the chance to sign the Boro-born striker alongside fellow fringe player Sam Byram. Salomon Rondon would move to the London Stadium for a fee of £10 million as part of the deal.

But while Gayle is a prolific Championship goalscorer, a man who fired Newcastle to the title in 2017, Hugill’s record in the second tier is good rather than great.
He netted just six times in 37 games on loan at Middlesbrough last season, though the ‘Tony Pulis factor’ must be taken into consideration. Even his spell at Preston, which paved the way for an £8 million move to West Ham (the Mail), was hardly outstanding with 23 goals across three seasons.
West Brom surely need better if they want to win the league.
