Tom Pearce has only a few weeks left on his Leeds United contract but will the Championship giants keep him at Elland Road?

With Leeds United sliding down the Championship table and fans voicing their displeasure with the owner, the director of football and the manager, the rise of 20-year-old defender Tom Pearce has at least given the Elland Road faithful a reason to be positive.
The left-back joined Leeds two years ago after he was released by Everton, but was forced to wait until March of 2018 to make his Championship debut for the club.

But, in the last two months, Pearce has really put down a marker to be Leeds’ first-choice left-back last season.
The position has been a problem for Leeds ever since Charlie Taylor’s controversial exit to Burnley last summer, with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Laurens de Bock both struggling badly after being brought in as potential replacements.
But, if Pearce’s performance in the 2-1 win against Barnsley on Saturday is anything to go by, the answer could have been right under Leeds’ nose the whole time.

The youngster opened his account for the club with a rasping long-range shot on only his third appearance against the Tykes and defended stoutly as his side held on for a vital win.
And, with Pearce’s contract set to expire this summer, Leeds fans are now urging the club to get him tied down as soon as possible on the back of Pablo Hernandez’s new two-year deal.
