Eduardo Herrera is reportedly set to leave Rangers for a return to Liga MX but he will be replaced by Umar Sadiq of Serie A giants Roma.

Rangers are set to sell one striker and sign another.
According to the Scottish Sun, Eduardo Herrera is on the brink of a return to Mexico with Toluca, just one season after he arrived at Rangers for £1.5 million. And, in his place, will be Umar Sadiq.

But could Sadiq be the powerful, aggressive targetman that Rangers wanted Herrera to be? Quite possibly.
Despite his 6ft 2ins frame, Mexican international Herrera struggled badly to adapt to the physicality of Scottish football and ended what looks like his one and only season at Ibrox with two goals in 24 games in all competitions.

Sadiq, however, looks like a different proposition entirely. The Nigerian U23 ace is almost two inches taller but it is his style of play which seems to make him a better fit. Sadiq is quicker and much more mobile than Herrera, combining pace as well as power.

He scored five times in 12 games on loan at NAC Breda in Holland last season and showed the attributes that should make him a much better fit than Herrera ever was. Sadiq can not only hold the ball up but run with it too.
So it seems that Gerrard is on the verge of upgrading his forward options.
