Hearts’ Scottish Premiership striker Ikpeazu is reportedly wanted by Celtic, Rangers, Cardiff City and Hull.

On paper, paying £1 million for a player who has scored a single goal all season doesn’t look like a great idea.
According to the Sun, Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic and Rangers are interested in signing Hearts front man Uche Ikpeazu in the summer, while Hull and Cardiff City are also keen on a player who only moved to Tynecastle last summer from Cambridge United.
But anyone who has watched Ikpeazu in action this season will tell you there is a lot more to the 24-year-old than goals, although he does have five in 2018/19 if you tally up his strikes in all competitions.
Ikpeazu is something of a rarity in today’s game, an old-school throwback who thrives with his back to goal and gets the best out of the players around him.

The 6ft 3ins hit man might not bring a reliable source of goals to his next club but he would give Celtic and Rangers something they don’t currently have – a physical presence in attack who could occupy defenders and open up spaces for Scott Sinclair, Alfredo Morelos, James Forrest or Jermain Defoe to wreak havoc.
For that, £1 million looks like good business.
